Translation - English One of the interesting things that are still practiced by Surabaya people is looking after of pigeon or we may call it “doro” in Javanese. This activity attracts kids, teenagers, and adults (both from lower and higher class). It could be said that to look after pigeons for Surabaya people is a common thing. Even some people may say that to look after –and to contest- the pigeon is the part of Surabaya’s tradition. If we trace the area of the kampong, one of the familiar things we might encounter is pegupon (house of the pigeon) –it raises tall and high. There are also some pegupons located above the roof to fancy the house and that it could identify the social status of the owner.

Indonesian to English: Merajut Memorabilia Subjek: Catatan Kerja untuk Pameran Reciprocities
Translation - English Meeting the six artists who are showing in Reciprocities has encouraged me to re-question the aesthetic nature of art. If aesthetics are often associated with something nice and beautiful, how to categorize the connection built between the gore-themed works and the audience? For me, it is not merely a matter of taste. There are basic things that support that connection.
