Over the next couple of years, I am hoping to make the transition to full-time work in translation.
I am Spanish and have lived in Argentina for 12 years. Prior to that, I lived in England for seven years (I finished school there and studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Oxford University), and in France for one year.
You'll see in my CV that I speak four languages fluently, I have a solid knowledge of a fifth and the perennial hope to learn Portuguese some time soon (I already use Brazilian media on a daily basis, for my current work).
I am a journalist by trade, with a Masters Degree from Madrid's Universidad Complutense. As an editor for a wire service in Spanish, first, and then as Latin American correspondent for a wire service in English, I have worked closely for over a decade with correspondents in my agency who write in Spanish from countries across the region.
I regularly translate journalistic texts from Spanish and German into English and from German and English into Spanish, and I am very aware of the linguistic variants in all these languages.
As a freelancer, I have translated two books from English into Spanish, and many other documents between these and other languages.
