Spanish term

piscina

Spanish to English Marketing Manufacturing printing terminology
Term appears in Iberian Spanish document on work done by advertising agency for its clients. Includes descriptions of print runs and books designed and made by firm. Following sentence appears in text and can't make out what "piscina" might be in this context.

Any ideas?

Many thanks in advance

Discussion

Charles Davis Apr 3, 2017:
Further difficulties This "piscina" is not just "para USB" but also "para libro". And it's "impresa".
I don't think it's a typo; I think it means something quite different.
philgoddard Apr 3, 2017:
Please can someone explain Why an advertising agency would be supplying modems? And "piscina" is a swimming pool, not a pool as in multiple items assembled in the same place. It can also mean fishpond.
I think it could be a picture of a pool, or a typo.

(die-cut) insert

It's a term used by some printing companies or packaging manufacturers for a foam or rubber insert used in packaging with spaces cut out for items. I think that's what they must be referring to here. I think it's usually called an insert in English.

"Diseño de Packaging para Telefónica Seneca Express
[...]
http://www.artesgraficasg3.es/diseno-de-packaging-para-telef...

You can see it in a video on this page. It's a piece of foam in the product package with a hole in it where the USB stick fits.

Another example; they're talking here about magnets as closures for packaging:

Just to show it's not just one company, there's also this, though it's less explanatory:

http://www.agsmartesgraficas.es/2010/

And one more:

Thank you, Christian!
agree Robert Carter : Case closed :-)

Thanks, Robert :-) The expression "as they say in the trade" springs to mind. Though it kind of makes sense, if you imagine the items floating in a pool.

agree neilmac : OK, but calling it in "piscina" in Spanish is just wrong. "Grupo" would be a better option (I don't know what the proper translation is)
