A letter from a solicitor to her client who has been injured in an accident. WHose fault the accident was is by no means clear (most likely the client's).
'I showed you the letter I had received from the Defendents which stated that you were drunk at the time of the accident and walked in front of their clien's car.At most they will only accept one quarter of the blame for the accident'.
It seems to me that the 'defendants' are here 'defenders'(of the other party), and not the'accused'.

"Defendents" is definitely misspelled… so it could go either way… "defendAnts" (accused) or "defenders" (defense attorneys). But it says here clearly "..and walked in front of their clien's car". So it is logical that the attorneys (defenders) wrote the letter regarding their clients)

Comment: "Thank you. However it it still kind of vague. The text consistently sticks to 'defendents' and at the end there is even an official 'witness statement' where the solicitor's client is a claimant and the 'defendant' is motor insurance bureau. Tricky this one was."

'I said that the Defendants had made an offer...'
again, as if it meant 'defenders' but that's the second timethis appears and it makes me think if it really is a spelling mistake.
