Super suggestion Dariusz and Mirosława. In the same vein, there is "a price reduction," sometimes even a store-wide price reduction. More dynamically, we can have a price knockdown (is this Australian English?). And for sheer simplicity, one can have "price lowering."

Perhaps a bit more context would help us home in on the answer. Right now, these sound like synonyms.
You may be right, geopiet. I have seen salesmen apply manufacturer's rebate and then apply for it to the manufacturer themselves.

re: One gets a a rebate after the sale, usually di not necessarily, there is also something called "In-Store Cash Rebate", when retailer deducts a cash incentive amount, which is provided by the retailer or manufacturer at the time of the sale.
