Announcing Connect user interface enhancements

20 September 2007

We are pleased to announce improvements to several elements of the Connect user interface. We hope these changes will make the system more intuitive and useful, and enable you to get your work done more quickly.

  • Dynamic search and requirements page (beta)
  • New interface for specifying data about needs or projects
  • New job posting page

Dynamic search and requirements page (beta)

We have overhauled the Connect "start" page and removed several steps from the search process. With this new interface, as you define your requirements you will see a list of language professionals who meet those requirements, updated in real time using dynamic Web 2.0 techniques. You can then contact candidates directly from this page, or post a job to those who qualify. To try out a beta version of this new interface, please click here: http://connect.proz.com/connect/find

New interface for specifying data about needs or projects

It is no longer necessary to define your need or project before you begin your search. A new tool is available which allows you to quickly and easily specify data about your project at whenever it is convenient for you during your search process--for example, before posting a job, or sending a "request for quote message". This new tool provides guidance in defining your project, allows you to create a custom screening questionnaire, and upload project files or test translations, all via a dynamic Web 2.0 interface.

New job posting page

The job posting page has also been streamlined and updated, so that it is faster and easier to create job postings.

Please tell us what you think

Please try out these new interfaces and let us know how well they succeed at making your Connect experience easier and faster. And as always, if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions for improvements, we want to hear from you. Please contact us by by submitting this feedback form, or sending email to [email protected].
