Cálculos mais no concreto

Portuguese to English Other Education / Pedagogy Pediatric Neurology
Taken from a medical report of a child with learning difficulties, this appears in a list of findings from the Nurology exam:

Memória visual: adequado para idade.
Raciocinio lógico: tem que ser direcionado.
Leitura: silábica alfabética sem significado.
Cálculos mais no concreto.

Later in the same report the phrase appears slightly differently: "paciente apresentan-se fase silábica alfabética sem significado, cálculos muito no concreto necessita adequar seus conhecimentos a uma série que melhor adapte seus conhecimento."

I think I understand the idea, but not sure how to best express it in English..

(very much on) the concrete calculations

The context tells that the patient has, pretty much, more knowledge on concrete calculations

more precise calculations

It seems like this refers to the level of precision of the calculations - more 'precise' calculations, which is not the same as 'accurate' or concrete' that feature in other suggestions. (i.e. Calculations can be 'accurate' or 'concrete', but at the same time not 'precise')

So, that more precise calculations were taken for this report, or something along those lines.

perform accurate calculations

This expression wants to specify that the calculations must be carried out as close to their application "more in concrete" (application).
Example sentence:

He tried to perform accurate calculations in the design of the central pillar of that bridge.

Mathematics helps to perform accurate calculations.
