BU = Business Unit
Pretty sure this has come up before and ought to be in the archive; it appears to be taken as 'Unité de Business', which is a rather ghastly calque on the EN!

Quite! Knowing that XXX is actually 562, and seemingly just a code no. rather than, say, an ampunt of money, does make a HUGE difference!

: Strictly speaking, a calque would be "unité d'affaires", but I agree re "ghastly"! Was this the Q? https://www.proz.com/kudoz/3875456 The asker's final comment was inconclusive, and Elizabeth was unsure herself. But I wouldn't rule anything out!

Thanks, Peter! Yes, I agree: but 'business' is used a lot in FR, with a subtly different meaning from just 'affaires'

Thanks, C! I agree that the lack of any meaningful context hampers us, but I am familiar enough with this term used this way to believe this is a probably explanation.

Discussion
At the moment, we don't even know which country this is. Unless you give more info, the most you can hope for is vague guesses, which could easily be wrong. That's the way it is with abbreviations, they're tricky because they can mean a lot of different things! The only way to disambiguate is to search for them together with relevant info, the more the better.
