This mode of response will also help you begin to open up your "rational filter" by which, I believe, we filter out so much of the Truth.
--> I cannot come up with a proper Japanese term to express the cocept of "filter" (both noun and verb) in this of context. Thank you for your help in advance.

I had the impression that the author is giving positive attribute on 'rationbal filter'. Then, 'filter out' also has the positive meaning, such as 〈事実・情報などが〉(…に)徐々に流れる[知れ渡る](ランダムハウス英語辞典)

「理性の網」「理性と言う網」で良いのではないでしょうか。そしてfilter out the Truthは、キリスト教徒にはおなじみの「漁る」を使い、「真理を漁る」と訳すのはどうでしょう。
「あなたを人間を漁る漁師にしてあげよう。わたしについてきなさい」:イエスがペテロに言った有名な言葉です。

: It is possible - it depends entirely on the preceding and succeeding sentences. I think the writer is saying that one should "open up" his/her "rational filter" to see the Truth (whatever that may be) which this person hitherto has not done. We shall see.

But all the answers and comments were helpful. Thank you all."

ろ過するというよりも、ここでは「ふるいわける」が適訳でしょう。

合理化のろ過(機構)
Rational filter -- The way I read your sample sentence is that this filter is something that we use to rationalize −合理化する (understand the world around us, that is, to make it understandable based on our own knowlege, experience, etc.).
In doing that we use the filter supposedly built in in our conscious and uncounscious mind. It is one of our defense-mechanism so that we are not overwhelmed by the incoming information. So we use this filter to what be permitted to our own internal world. Therefore, the way I would translate the sentenc would be:
This mode of response will also help you begin to open up your "rational filter" by which, I believe, we filter out so much of the Truth.
この種の応答はまたあなたの(心の中にある)”合理化のろ過機構”を開くことになるでしょう。私は信じるのですが、こうすることによって多くの真実がそれをすり抜けてしまうのです。
Filter as noun and verb is easily found in an ordinary dictionary. But in this case it is a filter we have in our own mind.

理性のフィルター
理性のフィルター
“Filter” (noun): フィルター as well as こし器, 濾過器、etc.
“Filter”(verb): 濾過される、透過される、ふるいにかかる(かける), 濾す、etc.
“Rational filter” is herein supposed to mean 「理性のフィルター」, a widely used term in documents related to philosophy, psychology, and religion. (Google counts 297 hits.)
While I definitely need further context, I’d like to render the given sentence as follows:
またこの種の反応から、いわゆる「理性のフィルター」を使い始めるきっかけが生じるのだが、そうしたフィルターでは真理(or 真実)のかなりの部分がふるいにかけられて排除されてしまうと考えられる。

: I ain't no philosopher but this sounds the most appropriate suggestion so far. この対応法はこれまで真実の大部分を排除してきた(と思われる)あなたの理性のフィルターを緩めはじめることを支援します。

Discussion
ũtB^[v is indeed used in many academic writings; however, the dilemma here is that I have been trying to avoid using the "katakanization" since the target audience is the older generation. Some of them have told me that they did not know what utB^[vmeans here. It is one of the process.
For "filter," uӂ邢킯ijvseems most appropriate here; however, I am not sure what is the best way to put it with "rational."
So, I am iclined, at this point, to translate asuɂӂ邢킯@\i@\jvEuɂd@\i@\jv if I cannot find any . What would you think?
