French term

penderie-lift

French to English Marketing Furniture / Household Appliances A high-end online furniture catalogue
This is for a Luxembourg high-end online furniture store, here's some context:

Bien équipé, votre dressing vous facilitera la vie : vos chaussures auront leur place dans un porte-chaussure classique ou à 2 étages, vos cravates resteront impeccables grâce au porte-cravates, vos longs manteaux trouveront leur place dans une penderie lift ou extensible, vos tops et pulls dans un tiroir ou un îlot.

I looked at their website for images of "penderie-lift" but could not see any. I'm wondering if it's some kind of hanging rail which can be raised? (electronically?), something like that? I've never come across this expression.

Thank you in advance!

It's a widespread term, you'll get plenty of hits in general and furniture store, and covers all cases, some might be motorized as it is a high-end furniture store.

The manual version from the same company is called a *pull down wardrobe rail*
Peer comment(s):

neutral philgoddard : There's no evidence that it's electric, and your second answer is the same as Yvonne's.

retracting space-saving hanging rail

Hanging rail:

https://www.eggo.be/fr/placard/accessoires/penderie-lift (see the video, shows you exactly how it works)

There may be a standard English term for this, but this is my "workaround" solution.

Ok, the "space-saving" is technically an addition, but it adds a marketing dimension/a selling-point to the product name.
Peer comment(s):

agree philgoddard : Yes, it just swings down from the back of the wardrobe. There are lots of ways to describe it, but you were first. I'd leave out 'space-saving', as there are too many words ending in '-ing'.
