This is one of the conditions in a contract order for a shipping company and I take it to mean that if there is some sort of delay which requires additional means for the order to be shipped further the costs will only be borne if the client knows about it immediately but I can't find an elegant solution for "Anschlussfrachten". Any ideas anyone?

: "additional freight charges" is a valid translation, though strictly speaking it is concerned only with the transhsipment from one mode of transport to another
