Italian term

carbonio solfuro

Italian to English Science Chemistry; Chem Sci/Eng
My question is:
Is this the same as "solfuro di carbonio" = carbon disulphide? (is there a rule for using disulphide as opposed to disulfide?

The two terms appear in the same sentence - which is why I have the doubt.

Thanks all!

carbon disulphide

This is the right choice as far as it originates from "sulphur" (British English)

agree Krisztina Lelik : as a synonim you can use also carbon sulphide. Both are CS2

agree Zareh Darakjian Ph.D. : carbon disulfide/disulphide, but not sulfide/sulphide. Molecular compounds need number prefixes.
