Sorry for keeping you in the dark. The families are complete. In brief:
full-time mothers with their boring stuff "мой руки,кушай кашу" vs. working dads willing to catch up on fun at the end of the week and indulging their offsprings too much. Minor behaviour issues on behalf of kids in connection with that, which trigger frictions btw. spouses as a result.

Agree with Nataly The term suggested by Nataly has no allussions to divorce. We all know that Mom takes care of everything every day, while Dad (if he cares) is responsible for holidays.

@Misha Hi, Misha. We know the context very well. It's about divorced families. It means that the child leavas with mother and takers her presence for granted. At the same time, father comes to visit him only on holidays/weekends, thus every his visit is associated with some festivities. In this was the mother gets less respect from the child though actually she gives the child more than the father. The problem has been discussed in Russian papers for decades.

It can be a case of a complete, normal family where a mum deals with day-to-day needs of her children, maintaines boundaries and structure, whereas a dad has some amount of quality time with kids in the evening and on week-end . So, mum is assosiated more with routin and dad with fun.
