Not sure, but I think this is cash bookkeeping, not accruals. Ref 1 explains the term in Swedish, ref 2 also shows that it is to do with cash, and this ref:

Sven, I am puzzled. Your disagree ref seems to support my argument for cash method (kontant). Faktureringsmetoden is surely when you enter amounts when invoiced (therefore accrued), rather than when actually received (cash method). Am I missing something?

agree Catherine Brix : My agree is actually for Glenn. Acc to Financial Accounting Standard Board the cash flows statement is prepared on a cash basis and not on the accrual basis of accounting as are the balance sheet and the income statement. Ref:Financial Statement Analysis

Bokslutsmetoden (Kontantmetoden)

Just to clarify if anyone finds this topic today. The Swedish term "Bokslutsmetoden" refers specifically to how the VAT reporting is done in a company that is using "Kontantmetoden" (Cash accounting method). When using "Kontantmetoden" you should also report VAT according to "Bokslutsmetoden".

Cash method: record cost when payment is done, report VAT based on payment date.
Accrual method: record cost based on invoice date. Report VAT based on invoice date.

Example sentence:
