This study investigates the moderating effects of professional commitment on relationships among burnout, job satisfaction, and turnover intention. Two-hundred fifty-three nurses working in a single medical center in northern Taiwan were sampled and approached, and 238 questionnaires were used. All participants were female and aged b50 years. Moreover, 30.3% of the sample was married. Professional commitment moderated the influence of burnout on job satisfaction, but not the influence of job satisfaction on turnover intention. First, burnout (in terms of reduced personal accomplishment and emotional exhaustion) predicted job satisfaction for high-commitment nurses, but not for low-commitment nurses. Second, job satisfaction predicted turnover intention for both high-commitment and low-commitment nurses.

이 종설은 대중에게 수술적 질환으로 흔히 알려져 있는 치핵에 대하여 self-management의 관점에서의 접근방법을 재조명함으로 효과적인 예방적 관리기술을 제시하고 있다. 자가관리는 Lorig 등(1993)에 의해 최초의 연구가 이루어진 이후 만성질환을 관리하기 위한 가장 효과적인 방법 중 하나로 주목되고 있으나, 현재까지 대부분의 연구들은 고혈압, 당뇨, 관절염 등 주요 만성질환에 대해 한정적으로 적용되고 있다. 하지만 치핵은 이들 만큼이나 광범위한 유병률을 가지고 있고, 일상생활에서 많은 불편을 초래할 뿐 아니라 국가적으로도 많은 비용을 지출하게 하는 질환이다. 많은 사람들이 치핵은 수술을 통해서만 완전한 관리가 된다고 오해하고 있으며, 또한 부끄러움 등의 이유로 증상표현을 꺼리는 경향을 가지기도 한다. 이와 같은 치핵의 질병특성으로 인하여 그 어떠한 질환에서 보다 올바른 교육과 상담이 중요할 것으로 생각된다.
Translation - English Systemic Review of Hemorrhoids Self-management
This review presents effective self-management and prevention techniques on hemorrhoids by shedding new light on established accessing methods in self-management perspectives, where the disease is known to be one of surgical diseases to public. Whereas the concept of self-managing chronic diseases has taken much attention after the pioneer monument of Lorig et al. (1993), most researches exclude hemorrhoid to this date, limiting their focuses only to major diseases i.e., hypertension, diabetes, asthma, and arthritis. However, hemorrhoid stands on an equal footing with these major chronic diseases in the categories of prevalence, level of discomfort, and national medical expenditure. Many are having wrong impresstion that Hemorroid is only fully managed through surgery, and are reluctant to express their symptoms because of shameful feelings and the likes. Because of these impressional and conditioanl characteristics of hemorroid, it is considered to require more correct education and consultation to patients than any other diseases.

Source text - English 체류 기간과 체류 자격에 따른 국내 이주민들의 만성 질환 유병률
이주민에게서 고혈압, 당뇨, 고지혈증, 비만 등의 유병률이 높은 것은 이전의 다양한 연구를 통해서 알려져 있다. 이주민에게서 만성질환의 유병률이 높아지는 기전에 대해서는 다양한 설명이 이루어지고 있다.
한 연구에서는 도시화된 생활 습관이 고혈압과 연관이 있다는 보고를 하고 있으며, 이주민들이 처한 낮은 사회 경제적 지위가 고혈압과 연관이 있다는 보고도 이루어지고 있다. 또 다른 연구에서는 이주민이 새로운 환경에 적응하는 스트레스가 이주민의 건강에 영향을 미친다고 보고하고 있으며 새로운 문화 환경에 잘 적응하는 집단일수록 고혈압의 유병률이 낮게 나타나며 이러한 적응은 물질적 자원의 수준과 사회적 네트워크의 수준과 관계가 있다고 보고하고 있다. 서구화된 식습관, 문화적 경제적인 이유로 인한 신체 활동의 저하, 스트레스, 인종적인 요인 등이 이주민에게서 비만과 제 2형 당뇨의 원인이 된다는 보고도 이루어졌다.
인도에서 이루어진 한 연구에서는 초기 정착 과정에서 오는 스트레스로 인해 젊은 이주민에게서 고혈압이 많으며 이러한 고혈압은 체류 기간이 길어짐에 따라 증가하는 경향을 보고하기도 했다. 이는 본 연구의 젊은 연령 대의 이주민에게서 고혈압이 많은 것과 유사한 결과라고 할 수 있다.
Translation - Korean The Prevalence of Chronic Diseases Among Migrants in Korea
According to their Length of Stay and Immigrant Visa Status
Through various studies in the past, it has been noticed that to immigrants their prevalence rates regarding hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia and obesity and etc., are high. Various accounts have been attempted to explain some mechanisms for their high prevalence rates.
One study reported their urbanized living habits is, and the other reported their low socio-economic status is associated with their hypertension. In another studies, they reported that stress from adjusting to their new environments affects their health that a group more adjusted to their new cultural surroundings had lower prevalence rate of hypertension and that this adjustments are associated with their level of material resources and social networks. It was also reported that westernized eating habits, lowered physical activities from cultural and economical reasons, stress, racial reasons and etc., are causing obesity and type 2 diabetes.
An Indian study reported that hypertension are common in young immigrants from stress of initial adjusting process and their prevalence rates tend to increase as their length of stay increase. This is a similar case to our case, showing many younger aged immigrant group had hypertension.

I'm a native Korean. I do translations between Korean and English. I could also translate or transcribe videos and audios.
I majored in Computer Science and Engineering in Korea and I have a Master's degree in Computer Science (specialized in multimedia and creative technology) from the University of Southern California in US. I worked for LG Software Ltd., in Korea for 2 1/2 years, doing image processing, building databases, system integration, factory automation and building websites. I worked for a US venture company doing face recognition for 2 1/2 years.
Then, I study American law in Korea and I acquired an LL.M degree in Intellectual Property Law from the John Marshall Law School, Chicago, US. I enjoyed legal research and writings.
Other than my knowledge from schools and jobs, I had frequent opportunities to translate or correct medical and nursing articles and theses.
