English to Italian: British Economic Decline after 1870 General field: Bus/Financial Detailed field: Economics
Source text - English For the first time the mile stone of British economy, Free Trade, was being questioned and decline seemed palpable. However, as many historians clarify, true decline is an absolute fall in the economic activity while what Britain was experiencing was not an absolute failure in economic terms, rather it was a retardation that went beyond expectancy, often called a ‘relative decline’.
