Source text - Indonesian Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan pelatihan yang diberikan kepada karyawan industri rumah tangga Prima Batik, proses pembuatan kerajinan batik kayu, dan visualisasi kerajinan batik kayu. Tiga masalah penelitian diperiksa berdasarkan pandangan elemen desain dan prinsip-prinsip desain. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Dengan menggunakan metode purposive sampling, data diperoleh dari pemilik industri Prima Batik dan salah satu karyawan. Data diperoleh dengan melakukan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Berkenaan dengan kredibilitas data, metode triangulasi dan pengecekan anggota diterapkan. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan model interaktif. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode pelatihan kerja dalam rangka mempersiapkan calon pekerja dan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan karyawan. Ditemukan juga bahwa ada delapan tahapan sistematis pembuatan kerajinan abtik kayu; memesan bahan baku, menggosok, membuat pola, mengukir kayu, mewarnai, mengeluarkan lilin, dan finishing serta pengepakan. Selanjutnya, motif yang digunakan dalam industri Batik Prima diklasifikasikan menjadi motif geometris dan non-geometris. Kerajinan batik kayu dari industri Prima Batik dianggap sebagai karya seni klasik karena menggunakan motif dan barang batik kuno.
Translation - English This study was aimed at discovering the training given to the employees of Prima Batik home industry, the creation process of the wooden batik crafts, and the wooden batik crafts visualization. The three research problems were examined based on the view of design elements and design principles. This study was conducted by employing the descriptive qualitative research method. By using a purposive sampling method, the data were obtained from both the owner of the Prima Batik industry and one of the employees. The data were obtained by conducting an observation, an interview, and a documentation. In regard to the credibility of the data, the method of triangulation and member checking were implemented. The data analysis was done by using interactive model. The findings show that the training was carried out by employing on the job training method in order to prepare prospective workers and to enhance the employees’ skills. It was also found that there are eight systematic stages of creating the wooden abtik crafts; ordering raw materials, rubbing, making patterns, carving the wooden, coloring, extricating wax, and finishing and packing. Furthermore, the motifs used in the Prima Batik industry were classified into geometric motifs and non-geometric motifs. The wooden batik crafts of Prima Batik industry were considered as a classic art work as it uses ancient batik motifs and items.
