Translation - English “Social stratification” refers to the complex of rules and patters that define how social and economic resources are distributed between groups and individuals, and the social ranking of individuals and groups as a result. Liberal notions of stratification are based on theories of human capital and acquirement of social status, which posit that individuals establish their status in the social hierarchy using resources of achievement like education and professional experience. “Structural inequality” on the other hand, describes a stratified system, where the critical factor in distribution of economic and social resources and rewards are the affiliative characteristics of the individual; such that the structure of social opportunity and placement in society are tightly dependent on these characteristics. The sociological discussions concerning social stratification in modern post-industrialist societies revolve around the definition and identification of stratification, and the investigation into the underlying foundations that determine social inequality.
Inequality occurs in a wide variety of ways: in South Africa and the United States for example, attributed race was one of the dimensions or criteria through which an individual’s social status was determined. In many western countries — Israel, for example — the association with a particular national or ethnic identity coincides with — and sometimes even defines — the boundaries of inequality. Social stratification — that is, the unequal distribution of resources and rewards in society — can be predicated on a wide variety of additional qualities, such as gender, age, religion, and more.

I'm a Behavioral Science Undergrad student at Ariel University. Moved to Israel at age 18 from the US directly to the IDF where I completed a combat service of 3 years and began acquiring fluent Hebrew. I am now fully fluent in both "street" and academic Hebrew.
I spend a lot of my free time reading books and articles in both languages, some fiction, mostly non-fiction on a wide variety of topics, mainly: Psychology/Cognitive Science, Philosophy, Science, Culture, and Chassidut.
I regularly write school papers in both languages.
