Professor Ms. Cornelia Stolting has graduated from the Translator School at the Federeal University of Rio Grande do Sul - Brazil. She worked as the head of the Language Training Center for Varig Airlines from1985 to1994, where she not only developped but also taught technical Englsh in all fields of aircraft maintenace (elecrto electronics, hydraulic systems, engines, avionics, and flight operations IFL and IlS). Also sales, reservations, cargo and engineering depts. were provided training in English for Specific Purposes (ESP). Hence the creation of the School of Aeronautic Sciences in partnership with PUCRS (the Pontigical University of Porto Algre-RS) where she started three disciplines certified by the Brazilian Education Control Agencu (MEC) as well as for the Department of Civil Aviation, i.e. Inflight Announcement, Technical Transaltion and Flight Instruction Prep. Course for the DAC bar.
Since leaving PUC, in 2005, she has worked as a free-lance language and teacher training consultant for Richmond-Santillana Publishing Co, delivering lectures and providing training at all corporate and institutional level.
Today, living in the north cost of the State of Rio Grande do Sul - RS, on the border with Santa Catarina - SC, she still provides theses trainings on hired basis as well as does translation from Portuguese-Englis-Portuguese be it written, real time, consecutive or whatever is needed to cater for clear communication of intentions.
She also holds a Master´s degree in Linguistics, specifically srudying the phenoma involved in transalting humor from its implicit nature as a human language.
She´´s interested in whatever may help citizens in the world get their message clearcut trough to counterparts so that we may hope for a better world in any field of science, although available for not so altruistic purposes as they may be required. She thinks a translator is a voice, but not of their own. A mesage, rather, to be spread around. She´s a witty, experience and insightful translator who deploys high quality voice work, pleasant intonation and is also very easy-to-deal-with person. Over 30 years of experience have added much to her professional expertise in translations also in other languages, such as Frencg, German and Spanish.
