English term

achieving

The main features of clinical perfectionism are listed below:
- Over-evaluation of achieving and achievment in valued domanins of life (expressed in areas such as work, performance at sports or music and in the eating disorder)
- Marginalization of other aspects of life
- Rigorous pursuit of personally demanding standards despite this having adverse effects on actual performance and causing impairment in other aspects of life.
- Discounting successes and resetting standards if goals are met (e.g. if a work goal is met, it is immediately replaced by a new, even more demanding one)
- Repeated performance checking (i.e. checking that one's performance meets one's personal standards and comparing it with that of others)
etc

"Do you think a lot about achieving and achievement?"

Discussion

English term (edited): achieving
Selected

Note from asker:

Multumesc! Intr-adevar.

It was interesting to me, one day I read an article that talked about achieving and achievement. Achieving was the act that leads to achievement and that we spent more time achieving than we do having achieved.

Ok, I just thought I'd mention it to anyone reading this question because the two words can be perfectly synonymous (achievement can also refer to the process), whereas in this case they're not.
