Source text - English Cognitive Semantics: Some Recent Developments. George Lakoff.
This lecture will survey some recent developments in Linguistics, Anthropology and Psychology on the nature of cognition. This research continues the tradition of work on cognitive structures in the areas of natural categorization (by Rosch and others) and in frame semantics (by Filmore and others). Results to date in these areas indicate the following:
(1) Natural Categorization. The categories of human thought are not characterizable by set theory, even fuzzy set theory; instead they are structured in complex ways involving prototypes and family resemblances.
(2) Frame Semantics. Building-block models of cognitive structure are inadequate; instead holistic structure of experience (frames) are required to account for a wide variety of cognitive phenomena.
Building on this tradition of research, the talk will cover two further developments:
(3) Metaphor. Most of conceptual structure is metaphorical, in that abstract concepts are in general structured in terms of other concepts that are experienced more directly. These include most of our social, interpersonal, and emotional concepts.
The metaphorical structuring of concepts is in general not unique. Abstract concepts are defined by clusters of partly overlapping metaphors. In such cases, the concepts do not have a consistent ontology. Instead, each metaphor brings its own ontology with it. Even the Western concept of a rational argument is defined by three partly overlapping metaphors whose ontologies are not consistent with one another.
Conceptual structure is not universal. Conceptual metaphors characterize social, interpersonal and personal realities, and therefore serve as a basis for planning and action.
(4) Mental imagery. Each culture consists in part of a large set of mental images which are shared by the members of that culture to a remarkable degree, Such conventional mental images are necessary for the comprehension of much of natural language.
Such mental images are not unstructured (as in Kosslyn's cathode-ray-tube model) nor are they propositionally structured (as claimed by Pylyshyn and others). Instead they are structured by abstract image schemes. Such image schemes play a central role in the semantics of natural language.
Philosophical significance. These results clash with classical 'objectivist" views of reality and of cognition. These views are: (1) The world is made up of objects; at any given time, each object has a fixed set of properties and there is a fixed set of relationships among the objects. Classical model theory and most computer data bases reflect such a view of reality. (2) Cognitive categories are set-theoretical, thought is propositional, and logic is a model for 'correct' human reason. The results of cognitive semantics suggest that this picture is grossly inadequate.
Social significance. Suppose we are correct that abstract concepts are characterized by very different metaphors in diverse cultures. Then social and economics planning, as well as foreign policy, ought to take relevant conceptual differences into account. At present, they have barely begun to be studied.

Данная лекция является обзором новейших исследований в областях лингвистики, антропологии и психологии касательно сущности процесса познания. Эти исследования продолжают традиции по изучению структуры познания в таких областях как естественная категоризация (Рош и другие) и семантика языковых срезов (Филлмор и другие). На данный момент, исследования в этих областях указывают на следующее:
(1) Естественная категоризация. Теория множеств, и даже размытая её разновидность, не способна объяснить категории человеческого мышления; на самом деле эти категории строятся посредством прототипов и семейных сходств.

Метафорическая структура понятий не однозначна. Абстрактные понятия строятся на основе совокупностей смежных метафор. В таких случаях, понятия не постоянны. Вместо этого, каждая из метафор привносит в них свой оттенок значения. Даже распространённое в западном мире понятие рационального довода определяется тремя лишь частично смежными метафорами.
Структура понятий не универсальна.
Концептуальные метафоры влияют на социальные, межличностные и внутриличностные реалии, а, значит, и на построение планов и действий.
(4) Мысленныее образы. Каждая культура состоит из широкого ряда мысленных образов, в поразительной степени закреплённных в сознании её носителей. Эти мысленные образы необходимы для понимания большой части естественного языка.
Подобные мысленные образы не лишены структуры (как, например, в модели катода-луча-пробирки Косслина), не являются они и пропозиционально структурированными (как утверждает Пилишин и другие). На самом деле, их структура основана на схемах абстрактных образов. Подобные схемы крайне важны для семантики естественного языка.
Философская значимомость. Данные выводы не соответствуют классическим “объективистским” взглядам на соотношение реальности и познания. Такими взглядами являются: (1) Мир состоит из объектов; в определённое время каждый объект обладает устойчивыми свойствами, и между объектами существует устойчивый набор отношений. Классические теории семантики и большая часть компьютерных баз данных отражают именно такой взгляд на реальность. (2) Категории познания объясняются теорией множеств, мышление пропозиционально, а “правильное” мышление логично. Выводы когнитивной семантики показывают, что подобная картина неверна.
Социальная значимость. Предположим, что в различных культурах абстрактные понятия действительно строятся на основе крайне разнообразных метафор. В таком случае эти концептуальные различия должны принимать во внимание при социальном, экономическом и внешнеполоитическом планировании. На данный момент эти различия лишь начинают изучаться.

растворов на современном этапе
В современной медицине особое место среди лекарственных средств первой
необходимости занимают инфузионные растворы: гемодинамические, дезинтоксикационные препараты для парентерального питания, регуляторы водно-солевого обмена. Средняя потребность в инфузионных растворах в пересчете на объем 500 мл составляет две упаковки на одного жителя (европейский показатель). В России. где потребность в этих препаратах около 300 млн. упаковок в год, выпускается примерно 30% от потребности. В других странах СНГ зта цифра еще меньше. То есть на рынке лекарственная: средств наблюдается большой дефицит препаратов для парентерального применения.
Аптеки при больницах производят сейчас до 70 % всех потребляемых в стране растворов. В средствах массовой информации все чаще обращают внимание на низкое качество инфузионных растворов. изготовленных экстемпорально. Вторым источником препаратов для парентерального применения являются фармацевтические предприятия, которые, к сожалению, не обеспечивают необходимых условий для выпуска качественных
лекарств.
Врачи отмечают частые негативные последствия лечения больных инфузионными
растворами низкого качества: устойчивые аллергии. посттрансфузионные осложнения вплоть до летальных исходов. Чаще всего страдают больные дети и беременные женщины. Именно поэтому вопросы производства и клиники перерастают в социальные проблемы всего общества.
Технология производства инфузионных растворов на крупных предприятиях-производителях России и стран СНГ (Красфарма. Биохимик. Мосхимфармпрелараты им.
НА. Семашко. дальхимфарм, Биомед. Биосинтез и др-) далека от стандартов СЗМР, внедрение которых в практику отечественной фарминдустрии предусмотрено Федеральной целевой программой «Развитие медицинской промышленности в 1998-2000 годах и на период до 2005 года», утвержденной Постановлением Правительства РФ от 24 июля 1998 г. № 650. В настоящее время указанный срок продлен до 2009 г. Предприятия, которые не смогут вовремя произвести переоснащение своего производства. уйдут с рынка по юридическим причинам (приостановление лицензии из-за несоответствия нормам ОМР) или просто в силу проигрыша в конкурентной борьбе. В результате, при
объективном анализе ситуации, очевидно, что ниша парентеральных растворов на
рынке лекарственных средств фактически свободна.
Подводя итог всему вышесказанному. можно сделать вывод о том, что вложения в производство инфузионных растворов - это стратегические инвестиции, направленные на развитие полноценного конкурентоспособного предприятия со стабильным доходом, рынок которого не ограничен региональными рамками, а имеет все перспективы для расширения (вполне реален также экспорт).
Translation - English 1.1. An estimate of the current investment attractiveness of the infusion solutions production.
In modern medicine, infusion solutions, such as hemodynamic, desintoxication preparations for parenteral nutrition and water-salt metabolism regulators, have secured an important place among emergency first aid supplies. In Europe, the average need for infusion solutions is two 500 ml packages per person. Russia manufactures only 30% of its 300 million packages annual need of these medicines. In other CIS countries such percentage is even lower. That is, currently there exists a big parenteral preparations deficit on the medical supplies market.
Hospitals’ pharmacies currently produce about 70% of all the solutions consumed in the country. The media often point out the low quality of these infusion solutions. Pharmaceutical businesses are another source of parenteral preparations, but they unfortunately do not provide the manufacturing conditions necessary to produce high quality medicines.
According to doctors, there are frequent negative consequences to consumption of low quality infusion solutions, such as persistent allergies and post-transfusion complications up to lethal cases. Pregnant women and children are under the most risk to get such negative consequences. This is why medical manufacturing conditions turn into a social problem for the whole nation.
The technologies of infusion solutions manufacturing used by major manufacturering businesses in Russia and the CIS (such as Krasfarma, Biohimik, the Semashko Moscow Chemical-Pharmaceutical Factory, Dalhimpharm, Biomed, Biosynthesis, and others) are far from meeting the GMP standards, which were recommended by the Federal Program “Development of the Medical Industry in 1998-2000 and in the period until 2005” initiated by the Russian Federation government by Decree No. 650 signed on July 24 1998. Currently, the deadline has been extended until 2009. The businesses which are not able to fully re-equip their production by the deadline will have to leave the market for legal reasons (their licenses will be suspended due to their failure to comply with the GMP standards) or simply due to competition. After an objective analysis of the situation, it is evident that the infusion solutions niche on the pharmaceutical market is practically vacant.
It can be concluded that investments into the production of infusion solutions are strategically well-grounded, as they will facilitate the development of a competitive business with a stable income, which will be able not only to successfully operate on the regional market, but also to export its products.
