En effet, la scène politique tunisienne se présente, en amont, comme étant propice à une participation importante des femmes en général et des jeunes en particulier. L’émancipation de la femme à tous les niveaux est un enjeu central dans la politique de l’Etat et a été depuis l’indépendance le caractère distinctif de la Tunisie par rapport aux autres pays arabes. Les droits politiques, civiques et sociaux des femmes en Tunisie sont garantis. Seules quelques discriminations au niveau du statut personnel subsistent encore tel que l’inégalité successorale. Par ailleurs, le pouvoir en place affiche une volonté politique dans le sens de la promotion de la participation politique des femmes (à travers l’adoption de mesure positives tel que les quotas au sein du parti au pouvoir le Rassemblement Constitutionnel Démocratique le RCD). En aval, la Tunisie semble se caractériser par le désengagement populaire et l’apathie des masses envers la politique (Hibou : 2006/ Camau et Geisser : 2003).
Translation - English In researching the political participation of young Tunisian women, we face a paradox within the Tunisian sociopolitical landscape. On the one hand, the Tunisian political atmosphere seems favorable to the political participation of women, especially for young women. Emancipation of the woman at all levels has important stakes in the political agenda of the State and it has always been, since Tunisian independence, a distinctive character of the country in comparison to other Arab countries. In Tunisia, political, civic and social rights are guaranteed and instances of discriminatory legislation are few, as in the inheritance clause of the personal status code. In addition, the party in power – the Constitutional Democratic Rally or RCD, also demonstrates political will to promote women’s political participation through the adoption of positive measures such as the quota system. On the other hand, Tunisia seems to be characterized by public disengagement and apathy when it comes to politics (Hibou: 2006 / Camau et Geisser: 2003).
