Hi,
My name is Anna Artfors and I am a professional translator.
Under my two years as a student of the Professional Translations Programme at the University of Gothenburg I successfully managed to study and work as a translator at the same time. While I was studying I worked as a translator for the magazine Red Hot Rock, which among other things has given me the experience of very short deadlines. Now my focus is on the practice of translation only, as I achieved my master’s degree in last semester. I started my own company last year and have since then been translating on a professional level.
I am interested in almost any type of text that you might have to offer. My experience is very varied: I have for example have translated EU-documents, where the information and text structure is of highest importance, press texts and marketing texts where localisation and adaptation is what really matters, and a philosophical essay where the language aesthetics were a top priority. I have learned when and where I need to use those different strategies, and also that they all sometimes need to be used within the same text.
I appreciate that I translate approximately 2000 words per day. I have access to SDL Trados Studio 2009 and Trados Suite 2007, and I have a lot of experience from working in both of the programs.
I do not have any larger ongoing projects at the moment and therefore I can be very flexible when it comes to working hours and project lengths.
I also pride my self in being a scrupulous proofreader, so if you have any Swedish documents that you need to get proofread, I am absolutely up for the job.
Best regards,
Anna Artfors |
