Samuel Thrope is a writer and translator based in Jerusalem. Born and raised in Arlington, Massachusetts, Thrope earned his PhD at the University of California, Berkeley, and has taught at the Hebrew University.
Alongside translation and editing of academic texts from Hebrew and Persian to English, he has written for Aeon, the Nation, the Daily Beast, Haaretz, and Tablet. His translation of Jalal Al-e Ahmad’s The Israeli Republic was published in 2017 by Restless Books.
