Owing to a decent course of English at my
medical school from the very beginning of my career I was able to read foreign research
papers and guidelines to be up-to-date and provide my patients with the latest
knowledge regarding their condition. But due to progressing underfunding and overall
deterioration of the Russian healthcare system in recent years I found myself
unable to maintain appropriate to patients’ needs standards of care. Thus I decided
to take a degree in linguistics at Moscow
State Linguistic
University in order to
get some new occupation that would allow my medical expertise to be put to good
use. Though my speciality
is internal medicine, working in emergency medicine for 10 years (2 years as an
ambulance doctor and 8 years as an emergency department therapeutist) forced me
to enlarge my knowledge in abdominal and traumatic surgery, urology, obstetrics
and gynaecology, neurology, toxicology and poisoning, intensive care and, more
recently, Covid-19 infection. In addition to the medical
field, as an avid cyclist and an amateur bike mechanic I can offer translation in
cycling industry-related area. Being an
unexperienced translator I expect my command of English to be far from good,
therefore I offer only English to Russian translation. |
