I've been translating documents professionally for quite some years.  The population I've served interpreting however, may not have the same understanding of what's been translated.  A deep understanding of various subjects, and being able to explain to the target audience in ways they understand is key to conveying the original message.  My varied industries gives me a deep understanding of a wide number of subjects.
