Source text - French Conceptions multidimensionelles et diagnostic du haut potentiel.
Ces derniere annees, la question de l'identification du haut potentiel et du talent, a occupe une place minoritaire dans la literature scientifique. A titre d'exemple, Heller et Scholfield constataient recemment que seulement 5% des recherches publiees dans les revues specialisees lui etaient specifiquement consacrees. Ce pourcentage ne manquera pas de surprendre si l'on considere la complexite de questions soulevees par cette problematique.
Une autre particularite de ce modele est qu'il prevoit qu'un facteur de hasard interagit directement avec les autres composantes. Gagne rapelle que ce facteur intervient, par exemple, dans la determination des aptitudes naturelles au moyen des mecanismes de recombinaison genetique.

W ostatnich latach zagadnienie identyfikacji wysokiego potencjału intelektualnego i talentu zajęło poślednie miejsce w literaturze fachowej. By posłużyć się przykładem, według Hellera i Schofielda (2000) jedynie 5% badań publikowanych w prasie specjalistycznej było mu w sposób szczególny poświęconych. Jeśli weźmiemy pod uwagę różnorodność zagadnień związanych z tą tematyką, jest to zaskakująco niski wynik.
Pewnej niezwykłości temu modelowi przydaje fakt, że uwzględnia on czynnik przypadku, oddziałujący bezpośrednio na inne jego elementy składowe. Gagné (2004) przypomina, że czynnik ten wpływa na przykład na stopień determinacji predyspozycji naturalnych poprzez mechanizmy kombinacji genetycznych.
English to Polish: Children's tale
Source text - English Sweetiebelle was sweet and pretty
and Pip Charming was very charming.
Sweetiebelle could wish
for anything
and Pip Charming
would grant the wish.
If Sweetiebelle wished for marzipan
truffles
or a croissant Pip Charming would
have it in the blink of an eye.
Or if she wished for raspberry
cordial or plum preserves,
no problem, because Pip Charming
was back with it in a flash.
Sweetiebelle
and Pip Charming
lived in the middle of the woods
near a noisy highway
that led to a cheerless
and grouchy city.
On rare occasions when Pip
Charming had to go to the city
Sweetiebelle handed him a
hair and made him promise
never to let go, because if he did,
he'd never find his way back.
Pip Charming always promised
and brought Sweetiebelle gifts
only in one hand,
because the other hand held tightly
onto her golden hair
which always led him back
to the little cottage in the woods.
Then one autumn morning Pip Charming
had to travel to the city again,
so he set off with Sweetiebelle's
golden hair in his right hand.
It was a peculiar morning.
Sleepy spider-webs shimmered
on the bushes,
and the red leaves
on the boughs of trees
were chilled by the white breath
of the coming winter.
Pip Charming sang a song about
how Sweetiebelle
is pretty as September.
Perhaps even prettier.
Rrrreally? Cawed the crow.
Really!
Answered Pip Charming,
and continued singing about how
Sweetiebelle is pretty as October.

put him in a house full of orphans
and taught him to be cheerless
and grouchy too.
Just like all the unhappy
little children
who always fight and break toys.
And so Pip Charming
also became naughty.
In time he broke the most toys
and ripped the most pages
out of storybooks.
Especially pages
that had drawings of fairies
that looked like Sweetiebelle.
Translation - Polish Ślicznotka była śliczna i słodka,
a Czaruś bardzo czarujący.
Ślicznotka mogła sobie zażyczyć
co tylko chciała,
a Czaruś spełniał
każde jej życzenie.
Jeśli Ślicznotka życzyła sobie
trufli marcepanowych
albo rogalika, Czaruś przynosił
je w mgnieniu oka.
Lub jeśli zachciała soku malinowego,
albo powideł,
żaden problem, bo Czaruś
był z nimi w sekundę.
Ślicznotka i Czaruś
Żyli pośrodku lasu,
blisko hałaśliwej autostrady,
która prowadziła do brzydkiego
i smutnego miasta.
Kiedy czasami Czaruś musiał
iść do miasta,
Ślicznotka dawała mu koniec swojego włosa,
i kazała przyrzec,
że nigdy go nie wypuści,
bo jeśli to zrobi,
nie znajdzie drogi do domu.
Czaruś zawsze przyrzekał,
i przynosił Ślicznotce prezenty
tylko w jednej ręce,
bo w drugiej ściskał mocno
jej złoty włos,
który zawsze wiódł go przez las
do ich małej chatki.
Aż pewnego jesiennego poranka Czaruś
znowu musiał jechać do miasta.
Więc pojechał,
ze złotym włosem Ślicznotki w ręce.
To był wyjątkowy poranek.
Babie lato połyskiwało w krzakach
kroplami rosy,
a czerwone liście na gałęziach drzew
były zmrożone podmuchem
nadchodzącej zimy.
Czaruś śpiewał piosenkę
o Ślicznotce
pięknej jak wrzesień,
a może nawet piękniejszej...
Naprrrawdę? Zakrakał kruk.
Naprawdę!
Odpowiedział Czaruś,
i poszedł dalej, śpiewając, że
Ślicznotka jest śliczna jak październik
a może nawet śliczniejsza...
Naprrrawdę? Zakrakał kruk.
Naprawdę! Odpowiedział Czaruś,
i poszedł dalej, śpiewając, że
Ślicznotka jest cudna jak listopad,
jeśli nie cudniejsza...

Szpony kruka były zimne
jak szpony strachu.
Śpiewaj dalej, czarujący chłopcze,
powiedział kruk. Następny jest grudzień.
I Czaruś musiał zaśpiewać piosenkę,
wbrew swej woli.
A z każdą nutą piosenki
czuł nowe ukłucie lodu w sercu.
Upuścił lśniący włos Ślicznotki,
a gdy przyjechał do brzydkiego
i smutnego miasta,
w ogóle zapomniał
o Ślicznotce.
W mieście został schwytany i
wsadzony do domu pełnego sierot.
I nauczył się być brzydki i smutny.
Tak jak wszystkie
nieszczęśliwe dzieci,
które się ciągle biją i psują zabawki.
I tak Czaruś też stał się
niegrzeczny.
Po jakimś czasie zepsuł wszystkie zabawki,
i wyrwał większość kartek z naszej książki.
A zwłaszcza kartki
z rysunkami wróżek,
które wyglądały jak Ślicznotka.

Hello,
I am a native Polish translator with two source languages: French and English.
I have acquired my translation expertise through the last 10 years of my professional career as a film producer and a foreign co-production specialist. As they say - THERE'S NO BUSINESS LIKE SHOW BUSINESS! It is a combination of all business types, and of almost all human experiences - depending of the subject of the film.
Nevertheless I would like to cite only few main fields I would like to remain faithful to, and these are:
• screenplays, synopsises, storyboards;
• dialogue lists, subtitling & voice over;
• law - contracts, especially copyrights and authors’ rights;
• film production documents (call sheets, schedules, lists of props, costumes, production design documentation etc.);

Currently I work as a full-time translator with a daily output of ca. 2000 words.
The most interesting projects I was involved in so far:
• dialogue lists of short feature films at the 32nd Polish Feature Films Festival Gdynia 2007 [English to Polish, 2007];
• 4 radio dramas based on the books by Agatha Christie – 4.50 from Paddington, Murder on the Orient Express, N or M and Murder of Roger Ackroyd, published as audiobooks by MOZAIKA Ltd. in 2008, read by the famous Polish actor, Jerzy Zelnik [English to Polish, 2008].
