Best way to replace translations in multiple files in Studio?

I have about 100 ttx files in one project that all contain the same sentence. Halfway through, I have changed my mind and want to change my translation. Can I just use the 'Edit translation unit' function, and the new translation will be applied to all files when finalizing? Or do I have to confirm the changed TU in each file?
I'm using Studio 2009.
Thanks,
Torsten

fix in TM Nov 21, 2011

Finish your translation, run Update Main Translation Memories, fix your translations in TM and run Pretranslate Files with "Always overwrite exisintg translations" selected.

If you used multiple TMs while translating, it's best to disable them before running Pretranslate Files. I've had instances where translations were not picked up from my edited TM (on top of the list) but rather from the TM where the previous translation originated from.

download an application Nov 21, 2011

I once asked this question myself (in a training session). You can't do multiple replacements using the standard features of Trados 2009, but there is apparently a free application for this purpose that can be downloaded on the Trados open exchange. I have never tried to use it, but maybe other site users have experience of it?

I am not sure if it would work but Nov 21, 2011

Once translation is ready, you could correct segment in the TM responsible for that fragment(s), create a new project and pretranslate all files using updated TM.

Best Regards
Stanislaw

Thanks for the tips Nov 21, 2011

Thanks David, found the application:

http://www.sdl.com/en/language-technology/sdl-openexchange/AppDetails.aspx?appid=35

I'm still waiting for conformation from the client regarding the preferred translation, and will try the app if 'Edit translation unit' doesn't do the trick.

Thank you for the other solutions too
