Stop website from switching to country-specific site

I have been trying to view a French website (.com address) in its original version, but I only ever get as far as the home page before it automatically switches to a .de address which is quite useless for me as I want to view the original text for reference purposes.
Is there any way I can prevent this from happening? I can't seem to find an option to switch to another language, so presumeably there's nothing I can do about this?

My guess is that their web server is detecting your computer's IP address and switching language based on that. If you can find a widget that simulates a French IP address (look up VPN) that might do it.
Otherwise, you could send an e-mail to the webmaster telling them that their site is badly broken

Two possibilities

Most likely, the server redirects you depending on the language preferences set in your browser. So, try changing the preferred language in the browser options. For example, in Firefox, it's Tools>Options>Content(tab)>Languages(pane)>Choose(button).
Alternatively, you may be redirected based on geolocation of your IP address. This one is more difficult, you'll have to find a web proxy in a different country.

Thank you very much to all of you for sharing your ideas and especially to Anton for suggesting to change the language settings in Firefox. Works like a charm!
