The dictionary gives me artificial insemination. As this is a comedy film and I do not have much space, could I say IVF treatment?

Depends what your translating and why Liz. If it is an advertisement for your client, then your client will tray and select the translator that gives translations which sell best, obviously within limits. If the means are honest, then the ends determine

I would say yes - unless the dialogue relies on the difference between IVF and IUI, which are two separate procedures. IVF is the more commonly known one though.

Since it is a comedy film, and I found myself looking up IVF to find out what it was when reading the newspaper the other day, I would avoid mysterious, initials and put what is going to be most easily understood by the widest audience.
