Probably breaking an unwritten rule here but I'm taking the best of both worlds and adding "the" since I think it seems odd without it and the plural since in this specific case of this translations it's referring to 2 women, sorry if toes are stepped on with the piggy backing, just feel it feels a bit better

: No harm in the plural, but for some reason "plaintiffs" and "claimants" sound more lawlerly without the "the".
