A gereblyézés hármashorgokkal vagy száruknál összeerősített, nagyobb méretű horgokkal történik, ezeket húzzák, rángatják az orvhorgászok a vízfenék felett. A horgok beleakadnak a hal testébe és így húzzák ki brutálisan a partra vagy csónakba. Főleg fehér és pettyes busára szoktak így orvhorgászni és a horgokhoz még egy nagyobb ólmot is erősítenek, hogy minél mélyebbre ússzon.
