Est-ce que "account" a le sens de "se justifier" dans la phrase suivante ?

"I would like to see far more emphasis on - do we have a genuine healthy democracy that is calling its elected officials to account, that is actually working in a positive way with the management, rather than simply in a confrontational structure."
