French term

augmenter le bénéfice par vos structures

French to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general) marketing/Online business services platform/club
This section is describing the benefits of an advisory service offered for "les personnes fortunées".

I am not sure how exactly to read this phrase, is it saying "increase your profits by your structure/framework"? I think I need help with rephrasing here. Context reads (this phrase is at bottom):

ENTREPRISE COMPTE BANCAIRE:
La liberté commerciale de votre entreprise grâce à des solutions avec des frais bancaires réduits.

PRIVÉE COMPTE BANCAIRE:
Diversifiez vos actifs dans des banques de grande réputation, faite confiance aux praticiens.

ENTREPRISE GESTION FISCALE:
Les meilleures pratiques de business intelligence pour augmenter le bénéfice par vos structures.

Discussion

Lara Barnett (asker) Aug 9, 2016:
@ Nikki Yes. Thanks. I did contact her. That is probably what she meant. I am not sure that she was English as some of her emails were a bit odd, but her name was Englsh, so it is difficult to tell if there was something "Lost in translation", but all sent in now.
Nikki Scott-Despaigne Aug 9, 2016:
I agree that without superpowers or mind-reading skills, it is of course quite impossible to guarantee that what you produce will be identical to some mythical English original. In fact, if some English version does exist, and if that is what they want, then they would appear to be asking for a back-translation... and probably of some machine translation source. You have my sympathy, especially if this is a long job.

It sounds like your client is expecting miracles and/or not providing you with the whole story. Either that or the client actually meant "as if it had been iitially written in English". That would make sens, particularly with what follows :"not just word by word translation".
In any event, you can only do the best with what has been provided, which does look like machine translation. I think you should not hesitate to contact the client to clarify what he/she thinks the original means.
Lara Barnett (asker) Aug 8, 2016:
@ AllegroTrans I did say something to her. She seemed more concerned with the regular sort of hot-words for these websites being used I think. But I did tell her I would not be able to make it identical to what another translator would have done.
AllegroTrans Aug 8, 2016:
Well, actually I don't think it is fair of your client to expect you to do this...
In your position, I would insist on "proper" French first and make it clear that I cannot guarantee that the translation will be identical to the original English.
Lara Barnett (asker) Aug 8, 2016:
@ AllegroTrans Yes, it is very difficult. As you have seen!
AllegroTrans Aug 8, 2016:
Surely it's an impossible task to produce the original English (as initially written) using a back translation into French??? This text doesn't look like natural French to me (and I am not a native FR-speaker)
Lara Barnett (asker) Aug 8, 2016:
@ Didier I have a feeling this is a back-translation from an old website that was in English. The client originally said to me:

"Please note, that translation should be produced as it was initially written in English, not just word by word translation."
Didier Fourcot Aug 8, 2016:
really French source? "PRIVÉE COMPTE BANCAIRE: : faite confiance aux praticiens"
looks like machine translation from an other language and "entreprise compte bancaire" above has an explanation that should rather match "compte bancare d'entreprise"?

Thanks Didier
neutral Daryo : what would be link with GESTION FISCALE? Make more profit so you can pay more taxes?// well that's the legal structure not the same as the organisational structure
1 hr
No, on the contrary: structure your business so that you pay less in taxes and, thereby, increase your profits. Not that I advocate any such thing!
agree Adrian MM. (X) : - even enhance profits....

Thanks Adrian. Yes, that's an option.

increase the profits generated by the departments of your organis(z)ation

'structures' is plural; so it does not relate to the organis(z)ation as a whole. It relates to the structures that are the components of an organization. In management parlance, those components are called departments. Each of them takes care of one function of a company.

'les meilleures pratiques de business intelligence' would do the trick.

increase profits by adapting/managing your legal structure

clue:

ENTREPRISE GESTION FISCALE:

GESTION FISCALE = translation of this euphemism in plain-speak: rearrange your legal structure in a way to minimise your taxes i.e. walking as close as possible on the edge between tax avoidance (legal) and tax evasion (illegal);

one garden variety case: a company operating in a high taxation country, while being domiciled in a tax haven (Amazon, Starbucks, Google etc in UK - remember all the fuss from few months ago?)

"Les meilleures pratiques de business intelligence" here: make the best possible use of all information available that could be useful to "manage your taxes"

two aspects of the same thing but VERY far from being even similar concepts:

organisational structure = how the business is organised i.e. admin / production units / sales department / R&D units etc

legal structure = the legal "label" you put on the business (or parts of it if and when there is any advantage to it)

to give an example you can have 3 production units in 3 towns - whether you make each of them a separate legal entity or make them just "organisational units" of only one and same legal entity makes precious little difference in the "organisational structure" of the business, but a noticeable difference in the "legal structure"

Organizational structure

An organizational structure defines how activities such as task allocation, coordination and supervision are directed toward the achievement of organizational aims. ...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Organizational_structure

Compare with https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=legal structure of a busin...

What has an impact on the taxation is the legal structure - exactly the same activity can be taxed very differently depending on what legal label you stick on it.
Peer comment(s):

neutral B D Finch : That's actually one of the things I was referring to in my answer.// See my second reference. However, there is nothing restricting the term in question to legal structures, so a more inclusive translation is needed.
56 mins
your answer has nothing to do with the "legal" structure of the business
neutral Francois Boye : what about the plural 'structures'? Why not 'tax organisation' instead of 'legal organisation'? Did Asker confirm your interpretation?
1 hr
neutral Adrian MM. (X) : it would be tax planning schemes, if anything.
1 hr
yes, "tax planning schemes" would be another [blunt] name for it, but it's usually advertised using all sorts of euphemisms // "advising you on managing your legal structure" would be one of them, no?

Improve your profits through structuring your investments

Given the context of advice for wealthy individuals, it is more likely to be the investment that is structured than the organisation.

The web reference is one of many which comes up by Googling 'structuring investments'
