enshacklement seria o ato de acorrentar, algemar
Como está sendo usado em sentido figurado, creio que tanto "acorrentamento" como "grilhões" se encaixariam bem na sua frase e transmitiriam a mesma ideia.

Uma tradução "feita à pressão" (perdoem-me), mas foi isso que entendi.

Não consigo entender a frase se for com "unshacklement", porque já tem o "break free" antes. Ficaria redundante, repetitivo:
se libertar (break free) da libertação das algemas (unshacklement)?
