: ever heard of "who plums you"? More important: usually there is a negative connotation, but as we don't know anything about this exhibition, we can't know which way to twist the meaning.

Paper wil put up with anything written on it
Izraz (izgleda) potiče od Staljina, a ovo bi bila engleska verzija.

: interesting research, but we have NO IDEA what is the real intended meaning here - literal? some pun? positive or negative connotation?

Discussion
We know what is the usual meaning of "Papir trpi svašta", but unless this exhibition is about a collection of nonsensical texts, it's some kind of word play/pun, which becomes far trickier to translate.
Any more details about this exhibition?
BTW, he usual intended meaning is:
"you can put on paper whatever you want, paper won't complain if you write nonsense, lies or some pure fantasy"
