English term

grip

English to French Tech/Engineering Cinema, Film, TV, Drama Job titles and associated adjectives
I know that a person who is a 'grip' is a 'machiniste', and the 'key grip' is 'chef machiniste' — the two suggestions in the KudoZ archive are in one case doubtful, and in the other completely wrong! The 'chef accessoiriste' is in fact the 'lead prop person' — nothing whatever to do with grip work!
The problem I am facing in my document (just a website more or less listing categories of equipment avalable to hire from a film producion company) is that it is used as a qualifier, so the usual 'job title' won't fit! I need the term for 'the equiment used by this job...'
I have things like 'grip department' (but being used as a shorthand for 'hire equipment for use by...') and 'grip (equipment)' etc.
I feel uncomofrtable about using 'machiniste', and I really don't feel 'machinerie' would cut it here; but I've been having trouble researching it, as the word is so common anyway, as is the job title.

I've found a few cinema glossaires online, but so far none has used the term in quite this way.

Your urgent help would be much appreciated!

You're welcome, Tony. Happy to have been of help. For my own information, if you have any sources from your industry friend showing why "équipement" was better than "matériel", I'd like to see them. You can PM me, if you want.
Note from asker:
I preferred to use 'équipement' here partly because it fitted better with the rest of my text, and also because I interpret the sense of the 'equipment' that is only implied in the EN source text as having more the sense of 'kit' or 'facilities', rather than specific items of equipment. The customer seems to interpret it the same way as me and was satisfied with his translation.

3 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thank you! Based on the advice of one of my friends who works in the industry, I went with '(équipement de) machinerie'"
