Justin Peterson Oct 18, 2021:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bachelor's_degree "A bachelor's degree (from Middle Latin baccalaureus) or baccalaureate (from Modern Latin baccalaureatus) is an undergraduate academic degree awarded by colleges and universities upon completion of a course of study lasting three to six years (depending on institution and academic discipline)"
Justin Peterson Oct 18, 2021:
"International Baccalaureate" Yes, it does exist. That does not make the term clearer, but rather just the opposite, as traditionally it has NOT referred to the completion of secondary-level studies.

Baccalaureate of Excellence

I don't know whether there is an equivalent in the UK of this new qualification (I don't think so) but the Spanish educational institutions that do offer it call it "Baccalaureate of Excellence", which seems self-explanatory enough.
Example sentence:

The Foundation offers Baccalaureate of Excellence and International Baccalaureate...

Cheers :-)
neutral Justin Peterson : BrE, OK. Do note that American readers will not understand the use of "Baccalaureate", which, to make matters even worse, we use as a synonym for a Bachelor's degree

Asker specified "inglés británico"....
neutral Yvonne Gallagher : don't really see how this is "self-explanatory" without more explanation since there's no real equivalent I know of in the English-speaking world. At least add Spain and 2nd level?

Baccalaureate of Excellence is self-explanatory IMHO...
agree philgoddard : Though I agree with Yvonne that it needs explanation. And Justin is incorrect: we have the International Baccalaureate, and it's not a synonym for bachelor's degree.

It's a new qualification they've rolled out.
