Taken from custody papers from the Basque Country, Spain, to be used in the U.S., where the parents have divorced and the wife wants to change the final orders issued in the previous divorce. She wants full custody of the children. This sentence is found under the ANTECEDENTES DE HECHO heading at the beginning of the document. The full paragraph is:

Tramitado del procedimiento por los cauces del articulo 775 de la Ley de Enjuiciamiento Civil, se dio traslado al Ministerio Fiscal y a la parte demandada para contestación, ye se celebro la vista el día xxxxxx, con la comparecencia de la parte actora y del Ministerio Fiscal.

Practicada la prueba propuesta y declarada pertinente, quedaron las actuaciones vistas para sentencia.

In family proceedings, you will generally not give your evidence in court (though you might be cross-examined by the other side) so the section 25 statement is your main opportunity to put forward your side of the case at the final hearing. The judge will consider the evidence in this statement when assessing what assets are available for distribution and what portion of them you should get.

Generally, these are produced a few weeks before the trial. This will give you the opportunity to examine the evidence your spouse puts forward and build up your case against it.
