Corridor approach
To measure defined benefit liabilities, the company must recognize a portion of its actuarial gains and
losses as income or expense if the net amount of unrecognized actuarial gains and losses at the end
of the prior period exceed the greater of:
10% of the present value of the defined benefit obligation on that date (before deducting plan
assets); and
10% of the fair value of any plan asset on that date.
