English to Polish Medical Medical (general)

The sections were examined using a Leica DM microscope (Leica, Heerbrugg, Switzerland) fitted with a camera (SONY DXC-950P, Tokyo, Japan) and adapted Quantimet 600 software (Leica, Cambridge, United Kingdom). One section per animal was sampled. Microscopic images of the specimens were digitalized and evaluated semi-automatically on screen. Bone perimeter, single and double-labelled bone perimeter, and interlabel width were measured (X200 magnification). Mineralized perimeter values (percent), mineral apposition rates (micrometers/day) (corrected for section obliquity in the cancellous bone compartment), and daily bone formation rate values (daily bone formation rate/bone perimeter [micrometers/day]) were calculated. All parameters were evaluated in the secondary spongiosa of the distal femur metaphysis and in one lumbar vertebra. Another set of sections were tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP) stained.
