English term

feel into

English Social Sciences Other Integration Practice
Dear colleagues,
I was wondering about the meaning of “feel into” in the passage below taken from the description of an exercise of vertical integration, i.e. integration between the higher brain areas such as the cerebral cortex and the lower brain regions like limbic areas and brainstem.
Maybe “into” refers to “feeling fully” the synergy of the intraconnected whole... ?
Thank you so much for your attention!

This motion links a grounding in the body with the higher processes of consciousness to represent vertical integration. The wisdom of our nonrational mind – emerging from the whole of our “embodied brain” – may be able to tap into the intelligence of nature and *** feel into *** the synergy of the intraconnected whole of reality that we’ve been exploring in our journey.

No, to me it suggests a movement from feeling to not feeling

Hi, IceScream, I think, although I'm not sure that the author means, we can "feel inside us" at a "gut level", so to say... in an intuitevely, non verbal way...
Christopher Schröder Jul 24, 2023:
I can’t see how it means any more than tap into does in the previous clause, really. Quite how you can feel into a synergy I don’t know.

sense, experience intuitively

A shorter version of "feel our/a way into" i.e find a way to feel/sense/experience I think it's not just about connect but about FEELING the intraconnection.

Soto rephrase: if "our (wise) nonrational mind" can tap into nature's intelligence it can thus intuitively find a way to feel/sense/experience the synergy of the intraconnected whole (of reality) being explored....

Note that synergy is a collaboration or interaction of several people or things.

Here it the power of the (nonrational) mind and nature combining to result in the "intraconnected whole" that has been sought (on the journey).

By using "feel"(and non-rational mind) I agree it is non-verbal and a gut feeling (that intraconnectedness has been achieved)
