English term

Security

English Bus/Financial Insurance Marine Insurance Certificate
The word appears in a table describing insurance. It is in the first column, followed by a name of uinderwring agent. I.e.

Security XX Insurance as Authorized Underwriting Agent.

Question: is this security refers to collateral? Or an effort to protect (just like a security guard)? Or what?

No, it's "property" In the next row, the text is "max. amount insured" in the left column, and "US$ xxxxxxx " in the right. I am thinking that this security is a specific term in the insurance industry for "coverer"/r insurer, considering the company name that follows. Hopefully someone experienced in this industry will shed a light.

I had the same thought as Trudy. It's very common for insurance companies in the United States to include the word "Security" in their names: Security First Insurance, Security Group Insurance, Security Financial Insurance, Security Mutual Insurance, etc.

Could it be part of the name of the company?
