Call Barge-In
This feature is also known as Line Pick-Up or Manual Line Selection.
This feature enhances the Columbus Call Barge-In capability where a user via their handset in the Idle State can barge into a PSTN call only if the call is not connected to a CyberGenie destination such as a handset (PP), a CyberGenie (CG) or Auto Attendant (AA) Session, or Voice Mail (VM). The enhancement allows the user to barge into a PSTN call even if the call is connected to a CyberGenie destination under various conditions.
(a) CyberGenie will support a system-wide user option to (1) enable, and (2) disable the barge-in capability. The default setting is enable.
(b) CyberGenie will support a handset to barge-in a PSTN call via (1) handset menu, (2) SUI, and (3) DTMF.
(c) CyberGenie will support a handset to barge-in a PSTN call from either (1) idle, or (2) one call connected state only if the PSTN line is NOT already connected to any CyberGenie destination.
(d) CyberGenie will and will not allow, denoted in the Y/N column, a handset user to barge-in a PSTN call under the following Call Destination and Call States, and their corresponding Next States after barge-in, if barge-in is supported under the condition:

Barge-In
The Virtual Operator includes a technology called Barge-In. It allows a caller to interrupt any Virtual Operator prompt with a spoken request. The interrupted prompt does not finish, yet the system interprets the request clearly and reliably.
Example: During the greeting \"Welcome to Smith Incorporated. How may...,\" a caller may \"barge in\" with a request for \"Jane Smith.\" Barge-In allows frequent callers, familiar with Virtual Operator prompts, to interrupt the system and reach their party in the shortest possible time.
Note: The Authorized Dealer can disable this feature. With Barge-In disabled, callers wait for an audio tone before speaking their request. Businesses may choose disable this feature when the majority of callers are calling in from noisy

It is also voice activation as in the following:
Barge-in Feature
iVoice LITE provides your small business with the most advanced telephone answering system available. With the barge-in feature (the ability to speak over prompts), callers can barge-in in their natural voice, at any time and say the name or department they wish to contact. The Auto Attendant immediately stops playing the greeting when the caller begins to speak, translates the speech into a telephone extension and connects the caller.
