Dear colleagues,
would you be able to suggest any good Slovak-Czech or Slovak-English dictionaries (hard-copy or online)?
I am a student of MA in Translation at the University of Bristol. I translate into two target languages: Czech (my native language) and English. My source languages are Spanish, Czech or English at the moment. I recently translated two academic articles from Czech to English and since my client was very pleased with the results I was offered another article to translate. However, this time the source language is Slovak. As I mentioned in the beginning, my native language is Czech and I therefore understand the Slovak language fairly well. Nevertheless, as you are all aware there are differences between the two languages. I am therefore aware of that I will need a good dictionary, which is why I turned to this forum hoping that you could perhaps help me in this respect.
Is there any good Slovak-Czech or Slovak-English hard-copy dictionary that you would suggest for me to buy? Similarly, I have tried to search for online-based dictionaries (especially Slvovak-Czech) that I could use. I have found a few but they are not very extensive and lot of the words I would need help with are simply not there. Again, I would very appreciate if you have any suggestions in this respect.
Thank you very much for you help. With my best wishes,
