Leave me alone Explanation: Although the asker does not provide the context, but I think literal translation will not be appropriate here. The inherent meaning of this sentence is "Leave me alone". |

Just leave me alone (OR,) Let me live my life the way I like/want. Explanation: Well, I think the idiomatic connotation is much more important here in this case than a simple literal translation. Just leave me alone is enough to carry the sense, whereas we can also use the full meaning: Let me live my life the way I like/want. live my life instead of simply using 'live' would clear the meaning that the issue is not about 'living somewhere' etc. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 11 hrs (2010-11-03 06:07:49 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- It's a coincidence that I saw Ms Iffat Chowdhury's entry only after I had pressed the submit button. Let me choose my way. Explanation: Here the speaker wants to be undisturbed and uninterrupted. Indeed we have to make the expression while translating it. However, if we can do so in a straight way, we shouldn't make a sentence which is absolutely different with the same inherent meaning. So, I think my translation can serve the asker. The alternative is: Let me live in my own world. |
