agree  Bourth (X): Or "assessment, appraisal", though all of these do not contain in themselves the notion of detecting anomalies, disorders, etc. You can analyze etc. something that is perfectly functional; diagnosis implies there is something dysfunctional.

  -> Thanks Bourth - and agree, the term 'analyse' is neutral - it does not presume that there is a problem prior to the analysis. The aim of the procedure would be to discern whether and to what extent deterioration had occured..
