Used for the job function in French - not sure it works for English - But if there's a driver, why not a ripper?

As polyglot45 stated above, a "rippeur" is the person who collects garbage cans and places them on a garbage truck so that they can be emptied. Here in France, they either follow the truck on foot or stand on small platforms at its rear. In English, various terms appear to be used depending on what country you live in. See the link below.
