Furnace wall tubes
A number of furnace wall tubes have been observed to have become detached from the boiler buckstays and will require either replacement or tying back.
The tubes to be renewed or tied back will be advised following inspection.
The Contractor scope for this area is as follows:
Renew 50m of furnace wall tubes, in 5m lengths (20 butt welds) at various location within the boiler.
Cut furnace wall skin casing and remove refractory as required.
Cut ties on tubes to be removed as required.
Cut feather bars if fitted.
Cut out defective tube and prepare ends for welding
Cut tube insert to required length and prepare ends for welding
