lites

English translation: leaflets / promotional materials

Spanish to English translations [PRO]
Marketing - Marketing / Market Research / Material for sales rep
Spanish term or phrase: lites
Dear colleagues,

This is for a (EU) Spanish TV series to UK English, and I'm trying to find what 'lites' refers to in the following sentence:

-Que yo tengo que ir a por unas lites que...
-¿El qué?
-Nada, material de visita.

The person who mentions 'lites' works as a sales rep for a pharmaceutical company, so it's to do with some kind of material she uses during her visits to see doctors.

The dialogue above is a transcription of the video in which she clearly says 'lites', so I don't think there was any mistake made there.

Thanks in advance.

Explanation:
I am also kind of guessing here, but I think "lites" may be short for "literaturas".

"El folleto, también llamado literatura o documento de visita según el argot de cada laboratorio, es un medio clave para facilitar la comunicación del delegado al médico."

I'm afraid I haven't found any examples either! I just think it's likely to be that, as "material de visita" would include promotional literature and samples.

The fact that the listener is saying '¿El qué?' suggest that 'lites' is not a word that is commonly used, which would explain why you cannot find anything online.

Asker: This makes sense, but I haven't found examples of this online. If you could support your answer with some examples from a couple of sources, that would be ideal. Thank you for your answer.

Explanation:
Total guess here, just throwing it out there to see if it sticks.
It's the first thing that sprang to mind that a pharmaceutical rep would take when visiting clients.

If it really does refer to leaflets and the like, I might consider using "bumph"...
